Baggallini Modern Convertible Travel Backpack - Costco limited offer

I was perusing the Costco site for new things I can't live without - as one does when you don't live near an actual warehouse - and stumbled upon a couple of new Baggallini bags, including the above referenced backpack. It's very comparable in size to the RS Appenzell day pack, but it opens clamshell style and has some additional organization sections, interior compression straps, as well as being expandable. It weighs not quite a pound more (1.8 vs 2.6 lbs). If I didn't have a practically brand new Appenzell, I might consider this Baggallini as my personal item on the plane. I don't walk around everyday with a bag this big, but it's great on travel days, especially because I have to schlep my work laptop.
Hope this helps enable someone to buy another bag they don't need! hahaha

Celeste!
Please help, I recently returned from Utrecht > Copenhagen (easy jet) > Utrecht. Used a Sherpani that worked, ah, ok. How much is the Baggallini on Costco? I am contemplating renewing my membership (they're an hour away from us in PA) and want to make the numbers work.
thanks in advance!

It's $89.99. I looked other places so I could read reviews and it was $175 everywhere else.
I am trying to justify buying it but I don't really need it!

I have an Appenzell bag, but due to it's loading method, it's now been relegated to a gym bag. I do like the loading method (book, better) of the Baggallini Convertible. However, at $90 and 2.6#, it's a little expensive and heavy for a 29 liter (expanded) bag.

In addition, I don't like the Baggallini bag's lack of a "sternum strap". Before I got a bag with a sternum strap, I was constantly holding my hand on the chest straps, keeping them from separating. My bag criterium doesn't require much, but is does require a sternum strap.

I think it was mardee - because of course it was :) who put me onto this backpack/duffel. It’s a bit lighter at 2 lbs. and a bit cheaper $69.99 I bought one for my son for his birthday but I don’t have any feedback as he hasn’t received/used it yet. It doesn’t have a detachable cross body strap, but I can’t imagine that being comfortable with a bag this size packed anyway. Might be worth checking out to compare. It does have the trolley sleeve and sternum strap and two handles for carrying. Gets great reviews.

I'm happy enough with the Appenzell (and don't need to contribute to Joe's retirement :p), but a lot of great options for anyone else looking for this style of bag!

I love everything Baggallini, but I can't give up my Hynes Eagle bag. I actually own three different sizes of Hynes Eagle backpacks, 26l, 38l and 40l. They are tough as nails and so well thought out. I have gone on trips as long as a month with my 40l bag. I should add that the 40l bag has a waist strap, something most travel backpacks don't have.
